Fri, June 9, 2006 - 10:31 PMBecause people who need medical marijuana shouldn't be going to nightclubs, and smoking it in a nightclub can get the nightclub shut down.
Seriously, I'm really sick of people using the medical marijuana designation to get stoned because they've got a fucking hangnail. Show some backbone, smoke it recreationally and don't hide behind a law intended for people who are dying.

Marajuana, even for medical reasons is still illeagal in teh state of california.
Even if it was legal, the Alcohol Beverage Control board (the ABC you hear about) could still ban it from bars, just like other legally obtainable substances, like N2O.
Endup really has no say in the matter, its' up to the state licence board.
I mean, you're in LA. Why don't you go smoke out in some LA clubs and see what they say.
I'm sure you could just flash one of these

I like to know where things are happening. Just because I've had a negative experience with a particular venue doesn't mean I wouldn't go to a certain party there. I've experienced the same thing at Mighty. -

Sometimes when we hit a certain party of mostly generations Xers, we aren't very welcome. Of course he and I are mature enough to just dance our asses off and have fun in our own little world. There are people that *end up* lovin it, and others who shun it. We got a really hard time one night at 1015. -

Mon, June 12, 2006 - 5:26 AMWell, considering that most people at endup are over 30, or even 40 to be excact, it's realy hard to blame Gen X'ers for eveyrthing still.
Perhaps try blameing Gen Y.
Quite a few of our customers are actually in their 50's, though you wouldn't know it to look at them, and they're in better shape and have more energy than the kids that come stumbling in.
Age is irrelevent. It's about attitude.

I have found the Endup to have a diverse crowd and not much pretention. -

Tue, June 13, 2006 - 3:20 PMWhile the staf at the endup can be a little persnikity sometimes they are generally pretty cool.
I WILL NEVER EVER EVER GO TO 1015 EVER AGAIN.
The staff there is down right nasty. There was a party there for the chinese new year and they wanted to clear a bit of space on the danse floor for this chinese dragon show.
The 1015 staff came out literally pushing people aside and when this young womon voiced her displeasure one of the staff hit her in the stomach.
Me and my friends were also accosted for looking beyond a roped off are without even touching or passing the rope. The security guy came to the rope and pushed us away. If he didn't wnat us there looking he should have put the rope further out.

Tue, June 13, 2006 - 11:33 PMEndup is closed on 2nd and 4th saturdays from 5am - 6am for clean up and re-decorating after reggae gold. 1st and 3rd saturdays it stays open around the clock.

Wed, June 14, 2006 - 5:02 AMThis weekend the endup won't be closing for substance, so you'll have no problem getting in. I suggest early arrival though. for one, cover is cheaper before 11. For 2, it's a hell of a great night. My fave night there right now. The positive energy from the crowd is amazing. To me, I think it feels like what I hear everyone talk about with how the endup "used to be" in the old days. Substance somehow channels that vibe through a time warp once a month.
Pretty cool.
